Linear Response Protection™ is Newton-Rider’s patented helmet architecture — designed to manage both linear and rotational impact forces through its flexible multi-pad construction.
Linear Response Protection™ is Newton-Rider's approach to managing impact energy through a fundamentally different helmet architecture. Rather than relying on a single rigid EPS structure, it is designed to provide a progressive structural response from initial contact across a broader spectrum of impact forces, incorporating both linear and rotational components. In the N1neo, this is achieved through nine individual impact-absorbing pads mounted on a flexible liner. Each pad combines a firm yet flexible polycarbonate shell, NR MI Foam and a non-Newtonian insert. The pads are designed to respond independently to impact forces, while the flexible liner allows controlled movement within the overall structure. Conventional EPS helmets absorb impact energy primarily through the deformation and crushing of a rigid foam structure. N1neo follows a different material logic, using multiple responsive protective elements working together across different impact conditions. The objective is a more continuous response across the impact-force spectrum, including lower and moderate impact levels relevant to concussion protection, while maintaining the ability to manage higher-energy impacts. This same architecture also enables N1neo's slim 18–20 mm protective structure, flexibility, adaptability and foldability — bringing protection and everyday comfort together in one integrated design.Key takeaway: Linear Response Protection™ is not limited to linear impacts. N1neo's nine independent pads and flexible liner are designed to respond to impact energy from initial contact across a broader spectrum of impact forces, incorporating both linear and rotational components — without relying on an additional slip liner.
